Joint rally with Rover Owners - 24/25 May, 2008
For some time, it has been becoming clear to your Committee that the interest in one day exclusive Scottish Group rallies is on the wane. Numerous ideas have been tried, along with venues from Alford in the far north to Summerlee right in the centre of Scotland, but the percentage of members turning out can, with the best will in the world, only be described as being on the small side.
We have, then, planned a joint rally with Rover owners to take place at the magnificent Thirlestane Castle, near Lauder, next May.
On Saturday 24th, a thoroughly enticing Road Run has been planned, literally in a figure of eight, embracing the lovely Border scenery, and Berwickshire coastal villages. On Sunday 25th, the (hardstanding) area directly in front of the castle, where all facilities can be enjoyed, will, hopefully, see a large line up of some of the UK's finest classic cars.
It would be useful if prospective participants could give an indication of their intentions to the Secretary at the earliest possible date in 2008. Please note, that, in order to pay the Castle Owners for the use of their facility, there will be an entry fee
of £10 for each car.
