It was now time to begin the finishing and starting with the priming of it all.
The rubbing down turned out good and there wasn't much repair work to do. So it was to the spray gun I turned.
The priming went all ok and it looked good as you can see, I did forget to take the horn off prior to spraying, just a minor oops.
The masking sheet I was using decided to fall down half way through due to my forgetting to tape it up so I sprayed to bulkhead in primer as well. A little oops here !!
The doors were quite awkward to do but turned out good and the garage floor was done in primer as well.
Not quite what I had in mind for the floor but ... Ok ... Oops.
The burgundy was next to get done . The bulkhead and engine bay got a bit of the burgundy as well this time. Now the oops are getting on my nerves a bit.
The doors turned out good with their coat of burgundy, I thought I would try the garage floor this time.
This was a swearing oops....
The other side of the bulkhead matched with the slip off the dust sheet here too. I had given up oopsing by now. Next it was the black to get done . The dust sheet held out here no black in the bay .
Ye ha!, the place I could of done with it .... Missed !!!!!
The tops of the doors were done next along with garage wall and floor ......
This a slightly bigger swearing oops....!
I used fine line tape to separate the colours and I gave the burgundy a week to harden before doing the black.
While I was tinkering with wood work Shelley was hard at work putting the roof lining back up.
After cutting it sewing it up and shaping it all with her own fair hands I thought it only fair to allow her to put it back in, because it was a pain .....
A big pain !!
In between all the painting and masking I was busy with the wood work.
Well from the black paint like jelly to the real wood look.
This was the first to go back on the car just to see what it would look like.
I think it was well worth the effort to do the wood and I think it looks just the job.
