North West Inaugural Annual Chairman's Dinner 2011
The North West Chairman's Dinner, held on Saturday 15th January 2011, was a great success and was attended by Sir Charles and Lady Wolseley, the Patrons of the Wolseley Register and 36 members. The evening started with the Ladies Barbershop singers the 'Red Rosettes', under the musical direction of Katy Phillips, while our members enjoyed Bucks Fizz and canapés. Established for 30 years, The Red Rosettes are the North West's foremost ladies barbershop chorus and currently boasts membership of around 50 ladies, of which 35 attended to sing at the Dinner. The ladies sang a wide range of songs and styles from ballads to pop. Some of their songs had choreographed routines to enhance the performance. Everyone attending agreed that the ladies were outstanding.
This was followed by an excellent Dinner while Mike Bryson, caricaturist from Halifax, sketched a caricature of everyone. Mike is known throughout the North of England as a fantastic caricature entertainer. Two after dinner speakers also complimented the evening.
Following the dinner, many letters and cards of thanks were received and we have been asked to make this an annual event.
