Norwegian Members visit the North of England!
On Thursday 1st April, Deputy Chairman of the Wolseley Register Anne and her husband Roy, Overseas Liaison Marilyn and North West Regional Chairman David, visited Haworth in West Yorkshire to meet two of our overseas members and their Wolseley. Vilhelm and his wife Ase from Norway are on holiday in the UK, travelling in their 6/99 Wolseley. What a stunning Wolseley this is. Owned for 32 years, Vilhelm bought his Wolseley after seeing it advertised in a small advertisement in his local paper many years ago. Vilhelm chose the 6/99 model as his father had one when Vilhelm was a child. On reading the ad, he rushed to see the Wolseley in his own modern car and leaving this at the garage of the seller, he drove the Wolseley the many miles back home! His children aged 3 and 5 at the time and his wife were delighted to see the Wolseley and it has remained at the family home ever since. The arrival of the Wolseley all those years ago, must have had an effect on his small children as today, they both have classic cars, his son an Austin 1100 and his daughter a Commer Cob.

We had a wonderful afternoon out together, visiting the famous Bronte Parsonage Museum in Haworth, West Yorkshire and we followed this with an amazing afternoon cream tea at nearby Ashmount Country House. It was lovely to meet Vilhelm and Ase, who were in England for a week touring the sites of Yorkshire and Lancashire. We hope to see them again in the UK in the future and also we hope to visit Norway in return.

Ashmount Country House
The views from Ashmount Country House are fantastic. This beautiful mansion has been the home to mill owners, doctors, academics and war heroes over the last 140 years and from its commissioning until the present century, has been associated with the Bronte family and the Bronte Society. Ashmount Country House is well worth a visit.
