The Midlands Region covers an area bordered by Gloucestershire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire and Wales. A variety of local and national events are supported with members and visitors being welcomed to the Wolseley stand at indoor and outdoor shows such as the Stoneleigh Restoration Show and the Footman James Classic Motor Show at the NEC.
Events attended over the last year are pictured at Midlands Region Recent Activities
Monthly social meetings are currently organised in the North of the Region, on the second Thursday of the month at The Parson & Clerk, Streetly. There are also regular opportunities to meet with other local classic car enthusiasts in the Worcestershire/Warwickshire area. There is a wealth of knowledge in the Region covering a cross-section of Wolseley models, which local members are very willing to share.
Activities are organised in and around the Midlands along with excursions to other areas, providing an opportunity to meet with Wolseley owners and enthusiasts from neighbouring Regions. This year, the Register is working closely with the National Trust and Midlands events in 2012 will largely be at National Trust properties to promote the Jubilee Tour of Britain and the Save Nuffield Place campaign.
The Register is affiliated to the Austin Federation (external website) and Midlands members always support the annual commemoration of component parts and cars made at the Longbridge Motor Works which sadly closed in April 2005. See below for details of the 2012 event.
