My 1908 Wolseley Landaulet celebrated its 100 year B'day at a Vintage Rally held in Mumbai, India over the weekend. I had registered the car with this club a few years back and sent on a brief history which was printed in Wolseley World issue 89 January/February 2001.

What was really heartening and brought a tear to our eyes was when the entire crowd gathered around the car and sang Happy Birthday accompanied by a Police Brass Band, while we cut a cake that was supposed to look like the Wolseley. It certainly was a proud moment for us to cherish.
It was also an achievement for us that the car ran the 62Km course in the heat of the day and through Bombay's crazy traffic in excellent time without once stalling, overheating or losing power as she would want to do earlier when she got hot. That bagged us the prize for "The Oldest Car to Complete the Rally".

Monday, February 25, 2008 (Mumbai)A fleet of regal beauties took to the streets of Mumbai in a nostalgic journey from the heart of South Mumbai to suburban Juhu, during a vintage car rally.
But the pride of the fleet, a 1908 award-winning Wolseley, is already miles ahead of the others as she celebrates her 100th birthday.
At hundred, she can put even the newest set of wheels to shame. A maroon and black 1908 Wolseley, rolling down the streets of Mumbai, wowed all those who turned out to watch this vintage car rally early on Sunday."It is amongst the oldest car, custom built for the Nawab of Janjira. It had glass partition and speakers to give instructions," said Abbas Jasdanwala, Vintage Car Owner.
