My First Car

Adam Adair was the grand old age of eighty three when I wrote to him, in 1988, asking that if he even considered selling his car, would he sell it to me. Not that I would have really had much use of the car at the time, as I was only eight years old! By return of post I received a reply stating that as this was his first (and only) car he could not part with it, however, should he ever consider selling I would be first on the list. It was then in May 1992, after his unfotunate death, that my dad and I were offered the car for sale from Mr Adair's son and so this little 1500 also become my first car. At the time I remember thinking that I would be in a position to make far greater use of the car now that I was twelve! We had to tow the car home as the clutch was seized, which began my father and I's adventure into Wolseleys...
